Summary
LRS-Vol-45
The papers printed in this volume, though they have kept or come together by accident, have a certain unity, relating as they do to earlier generations of the family, and they have seemed worth publishing for the light they throw on a variety of matters chiefly in the first half of the eighteenth century. Save where notes have seemed necessary to explain references to persons or things the documents are left to speak for themselves, and the Introduction has been confined to a record of the lives of the chief members of the Banks family
